Review a composite bonding proposal before travelling to Antalya: a practical checklist on treatment scope, options, written estimates and follow-up.

If you are considering composite bonding in Antalya, the treatment name alone will not tell you what an individual proposal includes. A useful written plan should help you identify the work being discussed, the questions still open and the arrangements you need to confirm before making a decision. This checklist is for UK and Irish patients reviewing a proposal, rather than deciding which procedure they should have.
1. Start with the concern you want the dentist to address
Write a short description of what you want to discuss, using your own words. Then ask the dentist to explain how the proposed work relates to that concern. If a plan lists several teeth, ask for a clear tooth-by-tooth description instead of assuming every item means the same thing. Keep a copy of the explanation with the dated plan so you can refer to the same version later.
The UK General Dental Council’s patient guidance encourages patients to understand the proposed treatment and ask about alternatives before agreeing. These questions provide a useful framework for discussing an overseas proposal too. [1]
2. Clarify the scope before comparing headline offers
Ask which teeth are included, what work is proposed for each one and whether any preparatory steps remain undecided. Ask the treating dentist what findings are still needed before the proposal can be confirmed. Do not treat a photograph, a treatment menu or another person’s result as confirmation of your own plan.
If you receive several documents, check that the tooth references and treatment descriptions agree. Mark unclear terms and request an explanation in ordinary language. A useful question is: “Which parts of this document are confirmed, and which could change after your examination?”
3. Keep questions about alternatives separate from appearance preferences
Ask the dentist to explain the available options, why an option is being discussed for your circumstances and what its limitations would be. Include the option of postponing a decision while you gather information. If bonding, Emax veneers or zirconium crowns appear in different proposals, ask the clinician to explain the differences in your particular case. This article does not rank them or establish that any one of them is appropriate for you.
Use treatment pages to prepare vocabulary for that discussion, rather than as a substitute for an individual assessment.
4. Request a written estimate you can reconcile with the plan
Ask for the treatment items and any separately charged arrangements to be identified clearly. Check what is included, what is excluded and how an agreed change would be recorded. Keep clinical treatment items separate from travel, accommodation and transfers so that two documents can be compared on the same basis. Ask which version of the estimate replaces an earlier one; do not rely on a message containing only a total.
Before deciding, keep a separate list of questions about payment stages, cancellations and any written terms. Request the applicable terms directly instead of assuming a promotional description answers those questions.
5. Put follow-up responsibilities in writing
Record who you would contact after returning to the UK or Ireland, how to reach them and how follow-up would be arranged. Ask who supplies your treatment records and how they could be shared with another dentist if needed. Ask what arrangements would apply if further travel were proposed, including who would be responsible for the associated costs.
The Dental Council of Ireland’s published guidance on choosing a dentist at home or abroad highlights aftercare, records and the practical implications of returning for further care. These are useful questions to resolve before travel. [2]
6. Leave room for questions before you commit to travel
The NHS treatment-abroad checklist encourages patients to gather information, involve their own dentist or clinician and clarify aftercare. It also identifies pressure to decide quickly as a warning sign. Give yourself time to read the proposal and seek clarification before booking travel around an assumed treatment schedule. [3]
Before accepting a plan, check that you can explain the proposed work in your own words, identify the questions still unanswered and locate the current written estimate and follow-up contact details. Ask the treating dentist for personalised instructions about care and travel timing; this checklist does not prescribe either.
Planning with Amazing Smile Turkey
All dental treatment provided by Amazing Smile Turkey takes place in Antalya. A UK Dental Event is an opportunity to discuss questions and next steps; it is not a treatment visit in the UK. Bring your question list and any existing proposal you want clarified. You can also ask our team how to arrange an online information meeting.
